Now that Chinese New Year is over and summer is fast approaching; it’s time to hit the shores again !
Last weekend me and my friends went to Isla Verde which is located in Batangas. If you want to know why it is called Isla Verde scroll down to see why.
How to get to Isla Verde
- Buendia Terminal ( DLBT/JAM) to Batangas City Pier 156pesos
- Drop to Batangas City Grand Terminal and your next stop should be in Tabangao Aplaya; if you’re on a tight budget you can reach Tabangao Aplaya via Jeepney (jeepney to Batangas City Proper and another jeepney ride to Tabangao Aplya) or if you’re in a hurry a Tricycle ride would be perfect but it will cost you 100pesos.
- Once you’re in Aplaya take a Boat going to Isla Verde 100 pesos per head ( there is only one boat trip going to Isla Verde and it is 9am and a 4am trip from Isla Verde to Aplaya).
Felt like i was in Bahamas when we arrived at Tabangao Aplaya.
We Stayed at Isla Verde Tropical Friendly Resort and indeed the resort is full of friendly staff plus a warm welcome from this cute little monkey! If you want to make some reservations you can join their closed group on facebook since they don’t have any facebook page yet.
Instead of getting the typical nipa huts we decided to go camping and it is way cheaper than the usual nipa huts. The big tent is good for 4 but if you want to squeeze in like what we did. We were 6 in one tent, imagine that? and it’s only for 800 pesos! Not bad right? plus our view was breathtaking.
One thing i love about the Isla Verde is that they have a very healthy marine life! I can say that the place is well maintained plus you don’t need to go far to do some snorkeling because just a few steps away from the shore you can definitely see the corals and the fishes!! I even saw DORY lol ! Too bad I forgot to take underwater shots since I was really overwhelmed by the beauty of their marine life! The snorkeling gear is only for 200pesos, it comes with flippers too and you can use it all day long!
This Tropical Friendly Resort has their own cafeteria so you don’t need to worry if you’ll ran out of food. For those who loves to grill that won’t be a problem since you can borrow some grilling materials but make sure to take good care of it or else they will charge you 500 pesos on each item you borrowed.
